Premise? Conclusion? What?

So, I realize that I actually never write about the reason that I started this whole blog.  I started it because I was on the verge of my "real" college experience, which I voluntarily chose to undergo at one of the most conservative, evangelical Christian universities in the country.

And, to be honest, I've done a really bad job of writing about anything specific to Liberty, and I've focused more on my experiences as a whole.  I've left a whole lot of the details about the school out, because I honestly don't think that my experience would be a whole lot different if I went to another school.  I don't live on campus; I'm not right in the thick of actual student life at Liberty, and aside from the much more "Christian" content of the classes, my education here has not been any different from what it was at the community college that I attended before I transferred to Liberty.

Because I have neither the time nor the content to blog that I thought I would before I started, this will probably be my last entry for quite a while.  I appreciate the community that I was pleasantly surprised to encounter through this experience, and I will continue to read some of your blogs once in a while when I have a chance.

It's been fun.

Oh, hey there, spring semester

Well, the inevitable has happened. The glory and wonder that is winter break ended and I attended my first classes of the semester today.

Judging by today's classes (only 3 of 7), this semester is going to be pretty difficult. I've still got that excited/beginning-of-the-semester buzz going on, but I can tell I'm going to have to really kick it into gear in order to do well.

Although, there will always be time for fun, as evidenced by the latest, adorable addition to my family.

My dad loves huskies, so we surprised him with this gorgeous girl for his birthday this year!  I thought I'd pass along some puppy love for all of you to enjoy.  Unfortunately, most of the lovin' that I'll be getting from this pup will be long-distance as well since we got her the day before I had to come back to school.

That's also my chin in the top of the picture, so feel free to make guesses as to what the rest of my face looks like ;)

Confessional

Well, I've always been one to make fun the Snuggie. I think the infomercials for them are totally ridiculous and I never really saw the point, as I just maneuver my regular, arm-less blanket to cover my arms but not my hands when necessary.

But I have to eat my words, because my sister gave me a Snuggie (zebra-print, no less)for Christmas and I actually totally love it.

Ahhh.

Delightful

Winter break might be the most delicious time of the year for a college student. I'm not completely sure about this one, as I have yet to experience spring semester away at school yet, but winter break is pretty awesome. It's not quite long enough to have a real job, although I have been able to work at my old one for a while. There are no looming projects or assignments due the minute that you get back to school. It's just lovely.

In other news, someone anonymously commented on my last post and told me that I am "very similar to the expert." Interesting...

A Few Quick Complaints

My dog's breath smells so incredibly bad right now.

TLC must have run out of ideas ever since Jon & Kate Plus 8 became John minus 9. All that's left are reruns and about 8 shows about little people.

The school district that my high school was in has decided to just start winter break early in light of the snow this past weekend, despite the fact that the roads are completely clear now and there should have been 2 more school days before break. Why couldn't they do anything fun like that when I was still in high school?

My old job told me they don't need any help for winter break because they're really slow, until today when they only need me for 3 days including New Year's Eve. I need the money, but New Year's Eve? Really?

Enough complaining...

:)
